Standard half day cruise

St MawesPicture deep blue green water meeting beautiful beaches and exotic scenery. Hear the rhythmic splashing of the waves as you relax... Can you picture yourself in Cornwall?

Cruise for approximately 3 ½ hours firstly to the tranquil Helford River and to Daphne Du Maurier’s legendary, Frenchman’s Creek. Imagine the excitement of The Frenchman and his gang of pirates as you cruise along...hoping not to incur their wrath and be made to walk the plank!

The Helford RiverMore adventures await you as you power past Mylor and Restronguet Creeks where they mined under the creeks for tin in the 1800’s but are now famous for their beautiful calm waters and the riverside and woodland birds. The stunning wooded River Fal is not far away and at Feock is Trelissick House and gardens, one of the beautiful estates managed by the National Trust. A lot of sub-tropical plants have been introduced here and the Camellias and Rhododendrons make a spectacular show in the spring.

As you pass the King Harry Ferry and laid up shipping you come round a secluded bend and find the famous 500 year old thatched Smuggler’s Cottage which was used by American Forces as a base for the D-Day launch. Here you can disembark (mid May to mid October) to eat, drink and be merry; the bar boasts over 100 malt whiskies; or indulge yourself with a proper Cornish Cream Tea or the infamous Pasty!

After enjoying the delights at the Smuggler’s Cottage you will cruise just a little further up the Fal towards the beautiful cathedral city of Truro where there are many shops, restaurants and cafes and where the river affords a unique view of the Cathedral.

Alas, our adventure is at an end and so we return to Falmouth.
